Feeling at home

There is not a day that goes by where I do not improve something on my house. I'm still living surrounded by boxes (see picture on the left of a stack in my living room). But I have all the basics unpacked. I have my large dining table that doubles as desk. I'm using these tiny powered speakers that Daniel had when I shared a house with him 10 years ago, and they sound great. Every now and then I think about some of the higher quality audio equipment that I have in a box somewhere, but this is great right now.

I cooked a nice meal tonight, inspired by a TV recipe from Jamie Oliver. I made a potato salad with a rare tuna steak, and risotto with roasted garlic and thyme. I'm a little short on counter space in the kitchen, but I am managing to cook. I listened to some Dutch music by Blof, while cooking.

I installed insect screens on the windows in my kitchen and bedroom. This is especially nice when cooking at night, since I can have the window open all the way for ventilation.

The big projects haven't started yet. At the end of this month about 1/3 of my foundation will be replaced, and after that I need to redo the bathroom. The foundation is simple for me, I have a contractor who is going to do the whole job. The bathroom is more complicated, since it needs so many different specialists, plumbers, carpenters, electricians etc.
